What made you want to become a breastmilk donor?

I had an oversupply of milk and I wanted to try to donate it somewhere to help others.

Why did you choose to donate to Helping Hands Milk Bank?

When I was searching for a place where I could donate my breastmilk to, I came across Helping Hands Milk Bank. I couldn’t think of a better place to work with. I wanted to be able to help moms and preemies that needed a little extra love and help.

Do you have experiences with a premature little one or the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)?

I was a preemie and I had a friend who had preemies.

What does it mean to you that your milk donations support Susan G. Komen® research?

Being able to support Susan G. Komen research, as well as helping preemies, was an added bonus and I was happy I was able to contribute.

Have you or a loved one been touched by breast cancer?

My father’s cousin had breast cancer and survived the battle.

Do you have a special connection to Susan G. Komen research?

I know how cancer in general can affect a family. Being able to help support efforts to fight cancer and find a cure was meaningful to me.

What is the most rewarding part about donating for you?

The most rewarding part of this experience for me was knowing that I was making a difference and helping someone who needed it.
