Azusa Pacific University visits Prolacta and tours the facility
On February 29, 2013, Prolacta had the pleasure of hosting a facility tour for a class of future nurses from Azusa Pacific University. As part of the Lifecycle Nutrition curriculum, Assistance Professor Catherine Heinlein brought her students in to learn about the benefits of human milk for premature babies, and to visit the state-of-the-art facility that tests, screens, and standardizes donor breast milk into Prolacta's Neonatal Nutritional Products. At the end of their visit, Professor Heinlein shared several excerpts from her student’s essays about their experience and newfound insight into Prolacta’s culture:
Students' Comments
“The presentations were very interesting because they did a great job of explaining not only what they do at Prolacta, but also why a place like Prolacta is needed.”
“From the walls covered in sweet, genuine photos of babies and women to the personal anecdotes of the women, I could feel the value and authenticity of Prolacta and the mission they stood for.”
“What truly was amazing to me is just how much care was put into every step in this process. This is so vital when the product is being fed to premature babies where the nutrients are so important.”
“I love how despite our race or our ethnicity, there is a natural community that is specially created and bonded through breastmilk.”
“I realized today that a great company like Prolacta needs all different kinds of people with different degrees and backgrounds to really succeed. It excites me for the future when I can be apart of something bigger than myself and really make a difference in the lives of people.”
